How Can I Sell My iPhone 13 Pro Max in Dubai? Price and Steps
You can sell an iPhone 13 Pro Max in Dubai in a single day: check its storage and battery health, get a quote, erase it, and hand it over for cash. A used one in good condition resells for roughly AED 1,450 to AED 1,800 in the UAE right now, and up to about AED 2,100 for the 1TB model.
The 13 Pro Max went on sale in the UAE in September 2021 from AED 4,699, so it is now five years old and worth about a third of what it cost. That sounds like a big fall, but it is still one of the easier older iPhones to sell. Dubizzle has close to 150 of them listed in Dubai this week. That tells you two things: people still want this phone, and you will have competition if you sell it yourself.
Below is what yours is worth, what a buyer will check, and the exact steps to sell it.

What an iPhone 13 Pro Max Sells For in the UAE
These are the prices the next owner is paying in October 2026, from certified refurbishers and from private sellers on Dubizzle.

around AED 1,750 – 1,850 |
|
1TB |
AED 6,819 |
around AED 2,000 – 2,100 |
Look at how close those rows are. At launch, the 1TB model cost AED 2,120 more than the 128GB. Today that extra storage adds only about AED 300 to AED 400. On a phone this age, buyers pay for condition and battery, not for gigabytes.
Refurbishers back this up. Revibe sells a 128GB unit graded "Good" (battery 85% or above) for AED 1,539 and an "Excellent" one (battery 95% or above) for AED 1,789. That is AED 250 for a better battery and cleaner body, on the same phone.
Remember that these are selling prices, with a 12 to 18 month warranty, after the phone has been tested and graded. A professional buyer pays you less than this, because that work and that warranty still have to be paid for. Private sellers ask similar numbers, but an asking price is not a sale price.
Is the iPhone 13 Pro Max Still Worth Selling?
Yes. Five years on, it still does several things that cheaper new phones do not.
- A 120Hz screen. The 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max were the first iPhones with ProMotion. The standard iPhone 14, 15 and 16 that came after them still have 60Hz screens, so a 13 Pro Max feels smoother than some much newer phones.
- A three-lens camera. The 3x telephoto, macro mode and Cinematic video all arrived with this model, and they still hold up well.
- A large battery. At launch it had the longest battery life Apple had put in an iPhone. With a healthy battery, that is still a selling point.
- Current software. It runs iOS 27, the same version as the newest iPhones.
- A SIM tray on every version. Newer imported iPhones are often eSIM-only. Every 13 Pro Max takes a physical SIM, which many buyers in Dubai still prefer.
Three things hold the price back. It does not get Apple Intelligence, which needs an iPhone 15 Pro or newer. It uses a Lightning cable, not USB-C. And it has the older notch, not the Dynamic Island.
Interestingly, the 14 Pro Max shares the first two limits, which is why the two phones sit close together. Certified sellers list the 14 Pro Max from about AED 1,899, only around AED 200 above a 13 Pro Max. If you are comparing models, here is how much an iPhone 14 Pro sells for in Dubai.
What Buyers Check on a Five-Year-Old iPhone
Deira traders told Khaleej Times in September 2026 what the common problems cost a seller. On a phone worth around AED 1,600, each one is a large share of the price.
|
Issue |
Typical effect on your offer |
|
Battery health around 80% |
15–20% lower |
|

about AED 350 less |
|
Battery replaced |
about AED 300 less |

about AED 200 less |
Four checks matter most on this model.
- Battery maximum capacity. After five Dubai summers, most original batteries are close to or below 80%, the point where the phone shows a service message. Unlike the iPhone 15 and newer, the 13 Pro Max does not show a cycle count, so buyers go by the percentage in Settings > Battery > Battery Health. Our guide to how battery health affects iPhone resale value explains the cut-off points.
- Parts and Service History. If the screen, battery or camera has been changed, the phone lists it in Settings > General > About. "Genuine Apple Part" is fine. "Unknown Part" lowers the offer.
- Face ID. A buyer will test it on the spot. One Deira listing with a Face ID fault is asking AED 1,250 this week, about AED 300 to AED 400 below similar working phones.
- The steel frame and camera rings. The polished stainless steel band shows fine scratches easily, and drops leave dents at the corners. Buyers look there first, then at the three lens rings.
The version matters a little too. Japanese models (the model number ends in J/A) have a camera shutter sound that cannot be switched off, and they usually get a lower offer than UAE units.
Should you replace the battery first?
Usually not. A battery near 80% takes 15 to 20% off the offer, which is roughly AED 250 to AED 300 on this phone. A replaced battery costs you about AED 300 as well, before you have even paid for the repair. Sell it as it is and be upfront about the percentage.
How to Sell Your iPhone 13 Pro Max in 6 Steps
- Check what you have. Open Settings > General > About and note the storage and model number. Then note the battery percentage from Settings > Battery > Battery Health. These two numbers decide most of your quote.
- Look at it the way a buyer will. Take the case off, clean the phone and check the screen, frame and camera in good light. Test Face ID, both speakers and the charging port. Anything you find now is better than a surprise at the handover.
- Get a quote. Send your storage, battery health, colour and any repairs to the buyer. Honest details mean the quote does not change at the door. If you want to know how buyers arrive at the number, see how phone resale prices are calculated in Dubai.
- Back up, then erase. Back up to iCloud or a computer and unpair your Apple Watch if you have one. Then go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Erase All Content and Settings. This signs you out of your Apple Account and turns off Find My. If the phone is stuck on Activation Lock, read our guide to selling a locked iPhone before you go any further.
- Remove your SIM and collect the extras. Take out the SIM card and delete any eSIM. Put the box and Lightning cable with the phone if you still have them.
- Hand it over and get paid. Let the buyer test the phone in front of you, and hand it over only once the cash is in your hand or the transfer shows in your own banking app. Have your Emirates ID ready. A proper buyer will ask for it, and that is a good sign.

Apple does still accept this model. According to Gulf News, Apple Trade In in the UAE gives between AED 640 and AED 3,260 in credit for an iPhone 13 or later, and the top of that range is for a 17 Pro Max. A 13 Pro Max sits towards the lower end, and it is credit, not cash. Our comparison of Apple Trade-In vs instant cash in Dubai shows where the difference comes from.
Selling privately can earn you a little more, but on a phone at this price the extra is usually small, and it costs you days of messages and meet-ups. If you do go private, avoid these common phone selling mistakes.
At SellMyPhone.ae we buy the iPhone 13 generation and newer, which makes the 13 Pro Max the oldest Pro Max we take. We come to you anywhere in Dubai, check the phone in front of you and pay before we leave.
Should You Sell Now or Wait?
If you have already moved to a newer phone, sell now. A 13 Pro Max in a drawer loses value even when nobody is using it.
The yearly fall is small in dirhams at this stage. The real risk is a single fault. On a new iPhone, a tired battery is a small deduction. On a phone worth AED 1,600, a battery service message or a failed Face ID sensor can take a fifth of the price in one go, and five-year-old parts do fail.
There is also the question of who will buy it. As models age, they drop off professional buyers' lists, and after that a private sale is the only route left. For the wider picture on how iPhones lose value, see our iPhone resale value guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
How can I sell my iPhone 13 Pro Max in Dubai?
Check its storage and battery health, get a quote, back up and erase the phone, then hand it over and collect your money. With a professional buyer who collects from your door, the whole thing can be done the same day.
How much can I sell my iPhone 13 Pro Max for?
A used iPhone 13 Pro Max in good condition resells for about AED 1,450 to AED 1,800 in the UAE for 128GB and 256GB, and up to about AED 2,100 for 1TB. Instant-cash offers sit below resale prices and depend mainly on battery health and condition.
Is the iPhone 13 Pro Max still worth selling?
Yes. It still has a 120Hz screen, a three-lens camera and runs iOS 27, so buyers want it. It is worth about a third of its launch price, and that share falls a little every year.
Does the iPhone 13 Pro Max still get iOS updates?
Yes. It runs iOS 27, the current version. It does not get Apple Intelligence, which needs an iPhone 15 Pro or newer, and Apple has not said how long updates will continue.
Should I replace the battery before selling my iPhone 13 Pro Max?
Usually not. A weak battery and a replaced battery lower the offer by a similar amount, so the cost of a new battery rarely comes back in the sale price.
Can I sell an iPhone 13 Pro Max with a cracked screen or broken Face ID?
Yes. Both lower the offer, but the phone still has value. What a buyer cannot accept is a phone with Activation Lock still on, so sign out of your Apple Account first.
Is Apple Trade In worth it for an iPhone 13 Pro Max?
Only if you are buying your next device from Apple. Trade In pays in credit, not cash, and older models sit near the bottom of Apple's value range.
What do I need when I sell my iPhone 13 Pro Max?
The phone, erased and signed out of your Apple Account, and your Emirates ID. The original box and cable help but are not required.
